Liverpool will allegedly consider an approach for RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann when Jurgen Klopp ends his spell at Anfield.

Liverpool will likely identify Julian Nagelsmann as a potential successor to Jurgen Klopp when the German opts to leave Anfield.

Having recently penned a contract until the end of the 2023-24 campaign, there are no signs that Klopp has any intention of departing the Merseyside giants in the foreseeable future.

However, according to journalist James Pearce, RB Leipzig boss Nagelsmann, as well as current Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders, would be high on the list of candidates if Klopp were to take on a new challenge anytime soon.

Speaking during a question and answer session on The Athletic, Pearce said: "Pep Lijnders is massively respected by the owners and is a popular figure in the club. He would certainly be part of the conversation.

"If Julian Nagelsmann's career remains on an upward curve at that time he's bound to be of interest too."

Nagelsmann has guided Leipzig into the Champions League quarter-finals this season.
