Leicester City will reportedly not follow up in their interest in former Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch to take over at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City have reportedly decided against pursuing former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch to be their next manager.

After the sacking of Brendan Rodgers just over a week ago, Marsch emerged as one of the front-runners for the job, and it was believed Leicester were in advanced discussions with the American to take charge.

However, Sky Sports News claims that Leicester are now firmly focused on the short-term only, and a manager that will optimise their chances of avoiding relegation from the Premier League.

That comes after back-to-back home defeats to Aston Villa and Bournemouth in the league which has left the Foxes two points adrift of safety in 19th.

Marsch kept Leeds up last season after replacing Marcelo Bielsa mid-season, but was sacked earlier this year with the club facing another relegation battle, having won only 11 of his 37 games in charge.

Rodgers's reign at Leicester ended with one draw and six defeats from his final seven games, and a further two defeats since his sacking have left the club in deep trouble.
