Juventus secure victory in the Derby della Mole with a 1-0 win at Torino but are left sweating due to Gonzalo Higuain's first-half knock and substitution.

Juventus have triumphed in the Derby della Mole thanks to a 1-0 victory against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday.

The Bianconeri suffered a setback after just three minutes when Gonzalo Higuain landed awkwardly on his ankle after colliding with Toro goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

Higuain was not substituted for a further 12 minutes due to a lack of options on the bench, but the Argentine eventually could not continue and was taken off.

However, Juve soldiered on and scored the opener, which turned out to be the winner, just after the half-hour mark.

Substitute Federico Bernardeschi got the better of Cristian Molinaro down the right and rolled the ball across the face of goal for Alex Sandro to tap home from point-blank range.

The second half began slowly but Juve weighed in with the first meaningful chance after the restart as Paulo Dybala rifled wide from a Bernardeschi long ball.

M'Baye Niang then fired wide from a narrow angle while, at the other end, Dybala latched on to a Sandro cross but sent his strike over the bar.

Both sides traded blows in the latter stages of the match, but neither could add another goal as the final whistle blew on a Juve victory.

TORINO (4-1-4-1): Sirigu; De Silvestri (Edera 80'), N'Koulou, Burdisso, Molinaro; Rincon; Falque, Baselli (Niang 54'), Obi (Acquah 71'), Ansaldi; Belotti
