Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is among three changes to Antonio Conte's Italy side for the international friendly against Romania in Bologna.

The 25-year-old full-back wins his 19th cap for his country by replacing Mattia de Sciglio, who picked up a muscle injury during the 3-1 defeat to Belgium on Friday.

Monaco winger Stephan El Shaarawy, on loan at the French club from AC Milan, comes into the midfield in place of Antonio Candreva, who scored the opening goal in Friday's loss, and Roberto Soriano replaces Marco Parolo.

Gianluigi Buffon wins his 154th cap in goal for the Azzurri, while Southampton striker Graziano Pelle continues in attack.

For the visitors, unbeaten in 14 internationals since June 2014, there are two changes as Cristian Sapunaru replaces Alexandru Matel in defence and Claudiu Keseru comes in for Adrian Popa.
