A suicide bomber has reportedly killed at least 25 people and injured more than 50 at a football match in the Iraqi city of Iskandariya.

According to BBC News, explosives were detonated by the bomber towards the end of the game.

The so-called Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, just three days after suicide bombers killed more than 30 people across the city of Brussels.

"They were just handing the trophy to the winners [when] the suicide attacker blew himself up in the crowd," a local police captain told AFP news agency.

Recently, members of IS have been targeting Shia towns like Iskandariya, which is 25 miles south of Baghdad.
