Galatasaray's failure to comply with Financial Fair Play rules results in them being banned from Europe for a year, according to a report in Turkey.

Turkish side Galatasaray have reportedly been banned from European competition for one season.

UEFA warned in January that the Istanbul-based outfit faced the sanctioning over their failure to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

According to broadcaster NTV, the governing body has now gone through with that threat.

If that is proven to be the case, Gala will not be permitted to play in next season's Champions League or Europa League.

They are currently fifth in the Super Lig table, 16 points adrift of rivals and leaders Fenerbahce.
