Everton reportedly re-open talks with Sam Allardyce about him becoming the Toffees' next manager.

Everton have reportedly re-opened talks with Sam Allardyce about him becoming the Toffees' next manager.

Caretaker boss David Unsworth has taken charge of Everton's last seven fixtures following the departure of Ronald Koeman, with Burnley manager Sean Dyche and Watford's Marco Silva both reported to be contenders for the role.

Sky Sports News says, however, that following the Hornets' determination to keep hold of Silva, Everton have resumed negotiations with Allardyce's representatives.

The former Crystal Palace boss, who was spoken to by Everton shortly after Koeman's sacking, was offered a deal at Goodison Park until the end of the season.

Allardyce pulled out of those discussions, however, put off by the club's supposed lack of potential investment in him.

Should the ex-Sunderland boss be given the role, it is believed that Craig Shakespeare, who was in temporary charge of Leicester City, would follow Allardyce to Goodison Park.
