Crotone promoted to Serie A for first time

Crotone earn promotion to Serie A for the first time in their history thanks to a 1-1 draw at Modena on Friday night.

Crotone have been promoted to Serie A for the first time in their history following a 1-1 draw at Modena last night.

The visitors earned the point they needed to guarantee a maiden season in Italian football's top flight of Italian football thanks to Raffaele Palladino's 44th-minute penalty.

The draw left the Calabrians 13 points clear of third-placed Trapani, who have just four games left to play.

Crotone are five points clear of second-placed Cagliari at the top of the table as they chase the title, but the Sardinians do have a game in hand.
