Chelsea hand young striker Tammy Abraham a new five-year contract before sending him out on loan to Swansea City for the season.

Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham has finalised his move to Swansea City on a season-long loan.

The England Under-21s international will link up with the Welsh outfit in the Premier League for the 2017-18 campaign after impressing at Championship level last season.

Abraham netted 25 times in the second tier for Bristol City, leading to a number of clubs reportedly showing an interest in taking him on a temporary basis, including newly-promoted duo Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Swansea have managed to get a deal over the line, however, giving the 19-year-old a chance to get some top-flight experience under his belt before returning to Chelsea next summer.

The Blues also announced on Tuesday afternoon that Abraham had penned a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge prior to agreeing a move to Swansea, taking his time at the club to 17 years should he see it all the way through.
