Kepa Arrizabalaga will be given the remainder of the Premier League season to convince Chelsea that he can be their number one goalkeeper, according to a report.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will reportedly be given the remainder of the 2019-20 Premier League campaign to convince Chelsea that he can be their number one goalkeeper moving forward.

The Spaniard became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he joined the Blues from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 but has largely failed to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.

Kepa was left out of four of Chelsea's five Premier League games before the division was postponed in March, while his future at the club has been called into question in recent weeks.

According to The Telegraph, the 25-year-old will be given the final nine games of his side's Premier League season to prove his worth.

The report claims that Burnley's Nick Pope and Ajax's Andre Onana are both being lined up as potential replacements, but Kepa will be given the opportunity to turn his form around.

Frank Lampard's side, who are currently fourth in the Premier League table, are due to resume their league campaign with a trip to relegation-threatened Aston Villa on June 21.
