How Brazil could line up against Colombia

Brazil head coach Tite is expected to make a few changes to his starting XI, as he looks to retain his side's unbeaten record in Thursday evening's World Cup 2022 qualifier against Colombia.

The hosts are comfortably top of the table, with a six-point gap back to second-placed Argentina, but were held to their only draw of the campaign so far in the reverse fixture one month ago.

Manchester City's Ederson looks set to retain his spot between the sticks, with Liverpool's Alisson Becker having to settle for a spot on the bench.

Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has been rewarded for his 220-day unbeaten streak at Arsenal with a first call-up to the national side but looks unlikely to displace the experienced central-defensive partnership of Marquinhos and Thiago Silva.

Emerson Royal and Alex Sandro are set to take the full-back spots, with the Premier League feel of the XI continuing via Fabinho and Fred in the middle of the park.

There was a surprise call-up to the squad for Philippe Coutinho, who returns to the Selecao for the first time in over a year, and a surprise omission in the shape of Vinicius Junior, who misses out despite having been in great form for Real Madrid.

The Barcelona man is unlikely to make it into the attacking four, however, which will likely consist of Gabriel Jesus leading the line, supported by a trio of Raphinha, Neymar and Lucas Paqueta.

Brazil possible starting lineup: Ederson; Sandro, Silva, Marquinhos, Royal; Fabinho, Fred; Paqueta, Neymar, Raphinha; Jesus
