Bayern Munich team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Stuttgart

Sports Mole rounds up Bayern Munich's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga showdown with Stuttgart.

Bayern Munich will be looking to bounce back from dropping points at home to Werder Bremen last weekend by ensuring they remain top of the table with a win at Stuttgart.

Hansi Flick's side were perhaps fortunate to gain anything from the clash against Bremen - the most played fixture in Bundesliga history - with the visitors penetrating Bayern's backline on several occasions and registering more shots on target than the Bavarians.

Winning will not be an easy task against a Stuttgart side who have remained unbeaten since the opening day, though, which is an impressive feat for a side who only gained promotion last season.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Bayern's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Pellegrino Matarazzo's side at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Joshua Kimmich

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 8 (vs. Borussia Monchengladbach)

Joshua Kimmich sustained meniscus damage in a challenge with Erling Braut Haaland during the 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund on November 6, with the 25-year-old having to be substituted in the first half as a result. The Germany midfielder is likely to remain out of first-team action until the New Year.

Alphonso Davies

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Mainz 05)

Alphonso Davies tore a ligament in his ankle in only the third minute of Bayern's 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on October 24, and has not featured since. The Canada left-back is expected to return to training in two weeks, with a return to first-team action pushed back until the New Year after it had initially been hoped that he would return at some point in December.

Niklas Sule

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Stuttgart)

Niklas Sule missed the wins over Red Bull Salzburg and Dortmund prior to the recent international break due to coronavirus, but was later called up to Germany's international squad having served his isolation period. However, he has not featured in Bayern's matchday squads against Bremen and Salzburg since, with Flick describing his absence as a "precaution, not a penalty" and confirming that the defender should be available against Stuttgart.

Corentin Tolisso

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Stuttgart)

Corentin Tolisso withdrew from the France national team squad on November 15, with his national team manager Didier Deschamps describing the midfielder's injury as only a "slight problem" and "nothing serious". Despite resuming training last week, Tolisso has not featured in Bayern's matchday squads since sustaining the injury, with Flick not offering an update on whether the 26-year-old would return against Stuttgart.

Bouna Sarr

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: Unknown

Bouna Sarr was ruled out of contention by Flick ahead of the win over Salzburg, with the Bayern boss unmoved to reveal when the full-back would be available for action once again. There is no information on the extent of his injury, but he has had patellar tendonitis in the recent past, so it is possible the 28-year-old has had another flare up in his knee region.

BAYERN'S SUSPENSION LIST

Bayern have no players suspended for the league contest.
