Arsenal plan to recall midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from his loan spell at Hertha Berlin this month, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly planning to recall Matteo Guendouzi from his loan spell at Hertha Berlin.

The midfielder fell out of favour at the Emirates Stadium in the latter stages of last season and was subsequently allowed to join Hertha on loan in October.

The 21-year-old has impressed during his time in Berlin, scoring twice and providing one assist in nine Bundesliga appearances, and he is due to remain in Germany until June.

However, according to Bild, Mikel Arteta's side are planning to recall the Frenchman this month.

The report claims that it is currently unclear whether Arsenal want to reintroduce the midfielder into the first-team squad or sell him on a permanent basis as his contract is due to expire in June 2022.

Guendouzi has scored once and provided five assists in 82 appearances for the Gunners but was training away from the first team at the end of last season.
