PSG are reportedly ready to battle Barcelona for the £104m signature of departing Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann after meeting with his representatives.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly met with Antoine Griezmann's representatives as they look to battle Barcelona for the signature of the Atletico Madrid striker.

Griezmann confirmed earlier this week that he will leave Atletico at the end of the season, despite signing a new five-year deal with the club just last summer.

Barcelona have been the long-standing favourites to sign the French World Cup winner, although their interest had waned after Griezmann publicly snubbed them by choosing to remain with Atletico last year.

However, the Catalan giants are understood to have forgiven the 28-year-old for that refusal and will make a renewed attempt to bring him to Camp Nou following his announcement.

L'Equipe reports that they will face stiff opposition from PSG, though, claiming that the Ligue 1 champions met with his representatives last week.

Griezmann's minimum release clause will drop to €120m (£104m) on July 1, with both Barcelona and PSG thought to be willing to trigger that.

The Frenchman joined Atletico in 2014 and has gone on to score 133 goals in 256 appearances for the club across all competitions.
