Atletico Madrid want to sign Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso in this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso at the end of the season.

Alonso joined Chelsea from Fiorentina in 2016 and has proved to be a success at Stamford Bridge, contributing 18 goals and 14 assists in 120 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

Atletico are expected to be in the market for a new left-back this summer as Filipe Luis prepares to depart.

According to AS, Los Rojiblancos head coach Diego Simeone is an admirer of Alonso and is keen for his club to tie up a deal for the 28-year-old in this summer's transfer window.

Alonso, who is a three-time Spain international, scored twice and registered six assists in 31 Premier League appearances for Maurizio Sarri's side during the 2018-19 campaign.

The full-back has a contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of summer of 2023, having only signed an extension in the latter stages of 2018.
