Thiago Silva says that the arrival of Brazil international teammate Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain would be a big boost, amid recent talk of a switch from Barcelona.

Thiago Silva has admitted that it is "important" Paris Saint-Germain see through their interest in Barcelona forward Neymar to prove that they truly mean business.

The Parisians recently emerged as contenders to sign the 25-year-old from Barca in what would be a record-breaking transfer, likely costing them £195m to activate his release clause.

Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre has stated that he is "200% sure" Neymar will remain at Camp Nou this summer, though, while the player himself has also moved to play down talk of a move away.

However, Brazil international teammate Silva would like to see the superstar forward make the switch, telling L'Equipe: "I do not know if Neymar is coming, he did not tell me.

"But when you have a project like the PSG one it's important to have players like that. If it happens it would be good for the group."

Neymar has scored 105 goals in 186 appearances for Barcelona over the last four years, 68 of those coming in La Liga.
