Chelsea reportedly made contact with Paris Saint-Germain over the potential signing of midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak earlier this summer.

Chelsea reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak as a potential transfer target earlier this summer.

Blues head coach Antonio Conte has been keen to strengthen his first-team squad since the end of last season, and he has already made four signings ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

According to L'Equipe, Krychowiak was on his radar earlier in July as he looked for reinforcements in the middle of the park due to the expected exit of Nemanja Matic.

However, he instead decided to push through with the addition of Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco, and has since made no further contact over the Polish international.

Over the weekend, PSG coach Unai Emery revealed that Krychowiak had been made available for transfer as he looks to fund moves for the likes of Neymar and Alexis Sanchez.

The 27-year-old made just seven starts in Ligue 1 last season.
