Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly willing to accept a lower wage than he would receive at the Emirates if he is allowed to join Manchester City this summer.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has reportedly lowered his wage demands in a bid to force through a move to Manchester City this summer.

The 28-year-old is understood to have demanded £400,000 a week to stay at Arsenal, where he is currently in the final year of his contract.

The Gunners are unwilling to meet that price, however, instead tabling an offer which would see Sanchez pick up £300,000 a week.

The Independent reports that Sanchez would be willing to take less than the amount on offer from Arsenal should he be allowed to join Man City, though, such is his desire to reunite with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.

The Chilean is understood to be desperate to leave the Emirates this summer in order to play Champions League football next season and give himself the best possible chance of winning silverware.

However, Arsene Wenger is unwilling to sell his star player to a direct Premier League rival and would prefer Sanchez to move abroad if he is to leave North London.

The likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the forward, although those clubs have since moved on to other targets.
