Sunday's La Liga predictions including Villarreal vs. Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's La Liga fixtures, including Villarreal vs. Atletico Madrid.

Two teams enjoying excellent seasons in La Liga will lock horns at Estadio de Vallecas on Sunday afternoon, as sixth-placed Rayo Vallecano welcome third-placed Real Betis.

Both sides will enter this match off the back of Copa del Rey wins, with Rayo overcoming Mirandes, while Betis progressed to the round of 16 courtesy of a victory over Real Valladolid.

We say: Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Real Betis

These two teams have only drawn six league games between them this season, but the points were shared when they last locked horns in the Spanish capital in March 2019, and we are backing a low-scoring draw this weekend, which would not be the worst result for either side.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Sevilla vs. Getafe (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Sevilla will be looking to stay in touch with La Liga leaders Real Madrid when they continue their league campaign at home to lowly Getafe on Sunday afternoon.

The home side are currently second in the table, five points behind leaders Real Madrid, who have played a game more, while Getafe occupy 16th, just two points clear of the relegation zone.

We say: Sevilla 2-1 Getafe

Getafe will be feeling good about themselves at the moment due to their impressive run of form, but Sevilla simply have to win if they are to stay in the title race. The hosts will be missing some key players this weekend, but we fancy them to navigate their way to an important three points at Estadio Ramon.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Alaves vs. Athletic Bilbao (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Athletic Bilbao will be looking to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they continue their La Liga campaign away to Alaves on Sunday evening.

The visitors are currently 10th in the table, boasting 27 points from their opening 20 matches of the 2021-22 season, while struggling Alaves sit 18th, level on points with 17th-placed Elche.

We say: Alaves 1-2 Athletic Bilbao

Athletic's recent form has been impressive, and they beat Alaves 1-0 in the reverse match at San Mames earlier this season. We are expecting this to be a tight fixture, as Athletic have only won twice on their travels in the league this season, but the visitors should have enough quality to secure all three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Osasuna vs. Cadiz (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Cadiz will be aiming to move out of the La Liga relegation zone when they head to Estadio El Sadar on Sunday evening to take on Osasuna.

The visitors are currently 19th in the table, two points from the safety of 17th position, while Osasuna occupy 14th, boasting 22 points from their opening 19 matches of the 2021-22 campaign.

We say: Osasuna 0-1 Cadiz

There is no downplaying the importance of this match for both sides, as a win could potentially act as a springboard for the rest of the season. Osasuna's home form this season has been disappointing, while Cadiz have been relatively strong on their travels, so we are backing a narrow away success here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Villarreal vs. Atletico (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Atletico Madrid will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in La Liga when they travel to Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday evening to take on an in-form Villarreal side.

The reigning Spanish champions are currently fourth in the table, 14 points behind leaders Real Madrid, while Villarreal occupy eighth spot, four points off their opponents this weekend.

We say: Villarreal 1-1 Atletico Madrid

Back-to-back wins will certainly have boosted Atletico's confidence following a difficult run of form, but Villarreal's recent results in La Liga have been excellent. Both teams will also be missing some key players for this contest, so it would not be a surprise to see a close match finish all square.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
