Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. AFC Wimbledon

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup third-round clash with AFC Wimbledon.

Arsenal's quest for EFL Cup glory begins in the third round on Wednesday, as League One side AFC Wimbledon pay a visit to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners prepared for Wednesday's game in ideal fashion with a 1-0 success over Burnley in the Premier League, as Martin Odegaard's sublime free kick separated the two sides on the day.

Mikel Arteta's side made it back-to-back top-flight wins with their triumph at Turf Moor, and they also cruised into the third round of the EFL Cup with a 6-0 thrashing of a youthful West Bromwich Albion side.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Mohamed Elneny

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 26 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Mohamed Elneny has returned to training sooner than expected after suffering a hamstring injury earlier this month and is reportedly set to rejoin the team next week, but this game will still come too soon for him.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Cramp
Possible return date: September 22 (vs. Wimbledon)

Kieran Tierney was forced off with cramp against Burnley and may not be risked in the EFL Cup, but Nuno Tavares would have been expected to start at left-back anyway.
