Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney could reportedly be ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, which he sustained on international duty with Scotland.

Arsenal have suffered a major injury blow as left-back Kieran Tierney could reportedly be ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The 24-year-old was not involved in the Gunners' 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night after returning from international duty with Scotland with discomfort in his knee.

Tierney played the full 90 minutes for the Tartan Army in friendly fixtures against Poland and Austria last week, but reported his concerns of the injury when he returned to London, and the Daily Mail claims that there are fears he could be out for the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports News in his post-match interview, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta said: "[Tierney] came back from international duty and felt something wrong in his knee.

"He felt something in training, had a scan and there's damage there. We will hopefully know more on Tuesday but it's not looking good."

Tierney has made 25 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions this season, scoring once and providing three assists.

Arsenal are also sweating over the fitness of midfielder Thomas Partey, who was forced off in the 75th minute at Selhurst Park with what appeared to be a muscle problem.
