Outgoing Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that missing out on Europa League glory would be an anti-climactic end to his reign.

Outgoing Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that missing out on this season's Europa League would be an anti-climactic end to his time at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners announced last week that their boss of 22 years will step down at the end of the season, and the Frenchman declared in his latest press conference that he is eager to go out with a European title to his name.

"That is part of it and will not take away from what we have done," he told reporters in his pre-match press conference ahead of this week's semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid, when asked whether Europa League failure would tarnish his legacy at Arsenal.

"It would be an anti-climax, that is for sure. We want to give everything to reach the final."

Arsenal host Atletico for the first leg of their Europa semi-final on Thursday.
