Argentina took on Italy in an international friendly at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester as Jorge Sampaoli's charges looked to prepare themselves for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Sampaoli's side added a late second too to fend off a resilient Italy side, as Manuel Lanzini profited on the break to score a goal on his first international start and seal a 2-0 victory.
