Germany took on Brazil at the Olympiastadion Berlin as the sides met for the first time since Die Mannschaft beat the 2014 World Cup hosts 7-1 in Belo Horizonte almost four years ago.
Both countries fielded strong sides as they sought to prepare for this summer's competition in Russia, as Gabriel Jesus headed Brazil ahead just before the break.
Julian Draxler might have earned Germany a draw late on but for a smart stop from Alisson, whose save saw Germany surrender an unbeaten run of 22 games on the international stage.

"I was watching the game at home in Sao Paulo with my wife and after the third goal went in, she started to cry. That started me off. It was a moment of great inspiration for Germany, every shot was a goal - stuff like that doesn't even happen in video games. The wound is still open and the match in Berlin is a part of the process of closing it."
