AC Milan may reportedly consider parting ways with Divock Origi during the January transfer window, despite only recently signing the Belgian forward.

AC Milan may reportedly look to part ways with Divock Origi during the January transfer window.

Since the start of 2022, Milan have been credited as admirers of the forward, aware that his contract at Liverpool was coming to an end in June.

As expected, the Italian giants won the race for the 27-year-old's signature as he agreed to compete with Milan's other frontmen.

However, Origi has barely featured for the Serie A champions this campaign, making just three substitute appearances in the league.

In total, he has been on the pitch for 47 minutes, with a further 33 minutes coming in the 1-1 draw with Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League.

According to Calciomercato, Stefano Pioli and club officials may now be willing to find a solution which sees Origi leave San Siro.

As it stands, Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud and Charles De Ketelaere are all ahead of the Belgium international in the pecking order.

Milan have less than two months' worth of fixtures for the remainder of 2022 due to the World Cup being staged from the middle of November onwards.

Furthermore, the report claims that Milan have already identified two potential alternatives to Origi for the turn of the year.

Lille forward Jonathan David is said to be on their shortlist with the Canada international continuing to impress in Ligue 1.

The 22-year-old has already contributed four goals and two assists in France's top flight this season and will hope to make an impression for his country at the World Cup.

Red Bull Salzburg attacker Noah Okafor is another player who is allegedly being monitored by the Milan hierarchy ahead of 2023.

The Switzerland international, whose contract expires in 2024, has scored seven times this campaign, including against Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
