Mel B is reportedly in line to be awarded an MBE in The Queen's New Year's honours for services to victims of domestic violence.

The Spice Girls singer, 46, is a patron of Women's Aid and has spoken candidly about her own suffering at the hands of domestic abuse.

"It is well deserved. Despite her achievements in music and TV she believes her campaigning is the most important thing she's ever done," a source told The Sun.

"Not only does she have first- hand experience of it but she has met many women who have suffered. She has a real fire in her belly about campaigning.

"She is so passionate about it and brings so much energy to everything she works on.

"She was incredibly brave to speak out as it is such a deeply personal thing for her."

Mel B will become the second member of the Spice Girls to receive an honour after Victoria Beckham was made an OBE for services to the fashion industry in 2017.
