England's Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding ease to the gold medal in the men's 3m synchro diving competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

England's Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding dominated the pool to win the gold medal in the men's 3m synchro springboard diving competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The duo had placed second at the World Championships earlier this year and blew the competition out of the water to win the title in Birmingham, finishing with 438.33 points.

Laugher and Harding executed some of the most difficult dives possible from the 3m board, including a four-and-a-half tucked forward somersault with stunning synchronisation.

The pair upped their difficulty to a 3.9 with a two-and-a-half piked forward somersault with three twists, and despite both entering the water slightly short of vertical, they broke the 80-barrier for the third time in the competition to cement their spot at the top of the standings.

Two Malaysian teams took to the 3m board for the synchro competition, and it was the pair of Gabriel Gilbert Daim and Muhammad Syafiq Bin Puteh who won silver with 376.77 points.

Shixin Li and Samuel Fricker of Australia collected the bronze medal with 374.52, as Scotland's Ross Beattie and James Philip Heatly (369.27) missed out on a podium spot, placing fourth.

Laugher had already defended his 1m springboard title on Thursday, which was the first of two golds for England on the day as Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix won the women's 10m platform gold medal.
