Jamaica have set a new championship record at the World Athletics Championships, completing the 4x100m relay in a time of 41.07s in Beijing.

The United States were in contention coming off the bench led by Allyson Felix, but had to settle for silver as Fraser-Pryce raced away in the closing metres, while the Netherlands also faded late on to slip back through the field.

Great Britain finished strongly to set a new national record of 42.10s, but Desiree Henry could not quite catch third-placed Trinidad and Tobago to secure a medal, finishing seven-hundredths off the podium.
