Result: Russia's Sergey Shubenkov edges to gold in 110m hurdles at World Championships

Russia's Sergey Shubenkov edges to gold with a sub-13s run in the men's 110m hurdles final at the World Championships in Beijing.

Russia's Sergey Shubenkov ran sub-13s to take gold in the men's 110m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

Jamaica's Hansle Parchment took the lead after the first two hurdles, while the USA's Aries Merritt, who is the Olympic champion in this event, was slightly behind.

In the final two hurdles, Shubenkov moved into the lead and maintained his position to cross the finish line first in 12.98s.

Parchment took silver and Merritt completed the podium by claiming the bronze medal at the Bird's Nest.
