Bradford Bulls captain Matt Diskin has confirmed that he is to retire at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old joined Bradford in 2010 following a successful nine-year spell with Leeds Rhinos.

During his time playing for the Rhinos, Diskin won four Super League titles and the World Club Challenge.

"I am extremely proud of what I have achieved in the game and, not being the most naturally-gifted player, I have done this through sheer hard work and determination," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"In my head, I would like to think I could play for another 10 or 20 years but my body is no longer allowing me to do the things I want it to do. I have made this call in order to ensure my longevity as a father, a husband and a person."

Diskin has made nearly 400 appearances for club, county and country during his career.
