Sky Sports and the Premier League reportedly no longer intend to air Arsenal's meeting with Liverpool on Xmas Eve, but instead want to show Leicester against Man United.

Premier League and Sky Sports chiefs have reportedly turned their focus to Leicester City and Manchester United for their planned Christmas Eve fixture.

The broadcaster remains keen to televise one or two games on December 24 this year, despite strong protests from supporters of each top-flight club.

Sky Sports had hoped to air Liverpool's trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, currently scheduled for the day before, but a lack of stewards is said to have seen them end those plans.

According to The Telegraph, Leicester against Man United at the King Power Stadium is now their top pick, but both sides are strongly against the idea.

The report also suggests that Leicester will themselves struggle to gather enough stewards to meet the specified standards, with a number of staff members not prepared to work on that day.

The only other game to take place on Christmas Eve was Leeds United's home match against Man United in 1995, which also fell on a Sunday.
