The behaviour of some England fans in Marseille is "embarrassing", according to Labour MP and shadow home secretary Andy Burnham.

Andy Burnham, the Labour MP for Leigh, has described the behaviour of some England fans in Marseille as "embarrassing".

Police in the French city had to deploy tear gas for a second evening on Thursday to disperse Three Lions supporters ahead of their team's opening Euro 2016 fixture.

Burnham, the shadow home secretary, tweeted: "When you think of the terror threat & everything the French are dealing with, makes behaviour of these England "fans" even more embarrassing."

Roy Hodgson's side will take on Group B opponents Russia at Marseille's Stade Velodrome on Friday at 8pm BST.
