Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to avoid equalling a 12-year streak when they face Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hoping to avoid equalling a 12-year streak when they face Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

The West Midlands outfit are currently enduring their worst Premier League campaign since their return in 2018, collecting just nine points from 12 matches.

As well as only sitting above bottom spot on goal difference, Wolves also head into their next fixture on the back of a 4-0 home defeat to Leicester City.

With caretaker boss Steve Davis expected to remain in charge for at least the next three league matches, Wolves are under pressure to get back on track in the capital this weekend.

That will be far easier said than done with Brentford having lost just once at their home ground this campaign and having recorded the most clean sheets on familiar territory.

Wolves make the trip to West London without an away win in the top flight during 2022-23, with that streak being extended to 10 matches when including last season.

Should the visitors fail to emerge victorious at the Gtech Community Stadium, it will represent the first time in nearly 12 years where they have gone 11 Premier League away games without recording maximum points.

That last stint occurred between April and December in 2010, Wolves ending the streak against the odds when Stephen Ward scored the only goal of the game in a triumph over Liverpool at Anfield.

Wolves' most recent away win, coincidentally, also came on Merseyside with Conor Coady netting the winner in a 1-0 success against Everton on March 13.

Another record not in Wolves' favour is their current run of results in London with four successive defeats coming since August.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United beat Wolves when Bruno Lage was in charge, with Davis overseeing defeats at Chelsea and Crystal Palace.
