West Ham United are reportedly leading the race to sign West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who has made the most saves in the league this season.

West Ham United are reportedly the favourites to sign goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion.

Johnstone has made the most saves in the Premier League this season, being called upon 160 times to stop the ball from going into the back of the Baggies' net, but despite this West Brom have still conceded the most goals in the league this campaign with 73.

The 28-year-old has achieved personal success this year after being called up to the England national team after representing his country throughout the youth development sides.

According to talkSPORT transfer expert Alex Crook, David Moyes wishes to add cover for Lukasz Fabianski: "On the subject of goalkeepers, West Ham are looking at Sam Johnstone, who has had an excellent season at West Bromwich Albion and made more saves than anybody else.

"He could yet find himself in the England squad for the European Championships. I've been told this morning that West Ham are the frontrunners to sign Sam Johnstone. They want competition for Lukasz Fabianski and this is a deal which could well happen this summer."

Johnstone arrived at the Hawthorns in 2018 and helped the club achieve promotion back to the Premier League, making 130 appearances for the Baggies in total.
