West Ham United reportedly hold talks with Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca just one day after current boss David Moyes's contract expires.

West Ham United have reportedly held talks with Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca over the prospect of succeeding David Moyes at the club.

Moyes is expected to leave the London Stadium this summer despite steering the Hammers to Premier League safety, eventually finishing 13th in the table and nine points clear of the relegation zone.

The Scot's contract at the club expired on Sunday, and the Daily Mail reports that West Ham have wasted no time in searching for a replacement.

Fonseca flew into Luton on Monday afternoon with agent Jorge Mendes before being driven to the home of co-chairman David Sullivan, where he reportedly held talks for more than an hour.

The 45-year-old Portuguese boss steered Shakhtar into the last 16 of the Champions League this season and has won the Ukrainian title in both of his seasons at the club.

Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini and Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez are also thought to be on West Ham's wishlist, with Moyes's future in the capital looking increasingly doomed.
