West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis reportedly shows an interest in signing Dinamo Zagreb defender Filip Benkovic.

Dinamo Zagreb defender Filip Benkovic has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies are known to be in the market for a centre-back, with Manchester United's Chris Smalling and Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson both being linked with a switch to The Hawthorns.

However, according to the Daily Mail, West Brom head coach Tony Pulis is also looking abroad and Benkovic is said to be on his radar.

The 20-year-old Croatian is relatively inexperienced, but he made five starts in the Champions League last season, with appearances coming against the likes of Juventus and Sevilla.

One potential stumbling block could be his price-tag, with it being suggested that he could cost £13m due to five years remaining on his contract.

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in Benkovic, who has already earned international recognition with Croatia Under-21s.
