King: 'Giggs star power benefiting Wales'

Wales midfielder Andy King believes that new manager Ryan Giggs's star power is already rubbing off on the Dragons players after just one game.

Wales midfielder Andy King has claimed that Ryan Giggs's star power is already rubbing off on the Dragons players.

Giggs became Wales manager in January after succeeding Chris Coleman, who had left for Sunderland two months earlier.

The former Manchester United winger enjoyed a superb first game in charge, with his side beating China 6-0 in the China Cup on Thursday.

"You only have to look at his playing record to know how he carries himself as a player and I am sure he is going to rub that off on to us as well," King told The Telegraph.

"You can't hope to work for anyone better in terms of what they achieved as a player and how professional they were.

"The fact we have come in after winning 6-0 and played really well and there's things he wants to improve on shows we are going to have to live up to high standards and try and keep improving.

"You can't help but be in admiration of what he has done in his own career. I am sure if he is half as successful as he was as a player then there are some good times ahead for us."

Wales face Uruguay on Monday in the final of the four-nation tournament.
