A report claims that Sunderland are not battling West Bromwich Albion for the signature of free agent Momo Sissoko.

Sunderland are reportedly not interested in signing free agent Momo Sissoko, despite suggestions that the Black Cats were keen to bring the experienced midfielder to the Stadium of Light.

It had been claimed that Sunderland were prepared to battle West Bromwich Albion for the 31-year-old's signature, but according to Sky Sports News, David Moyes is not in the hunt for another midfielder.

Sissoko played 60 minutes for West Brom during a friendly with Delhi Dynamos at the weekend, and the former Liverpool midfielder revealed earlier this week that he was keen on joining the Baggies.

The 31-year-old, who represented Mali on 34 occasions between 2004 and 2013, left Shanghai Shenhua on a free transfer in February 2016.
