Tottenham Hotspur reportedly revive their interest in signing striker Cedric Bakambu, who currently plays in China for Beijing Guoan.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Beijing Guoan striker Cedric Bakambu as a surprise transfer target for January.

Spurs are understood to be in the market for a backup striker to Harry Kane, with manager Mauricio Pochettino still unconvinced by current options Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen.

Tottenham failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window, but L'Est Republican reports that they are already working on targets for January.

Bakambu has emerged as a potential option having impressed since moving to China from Villarreal at the start of the year, scoring 19 goals in just 23 appearances for Beijing Guoan.

The 27-year-old was also linked with Spurs during his time at Villarreal, where he scored 46 goals in 104 appearances across all competitions.

The North Londoners could now return for the DR Congo international, who is understood to be open to a move to the Premier League.
