Hull City defender Curtis Davies says that Tottenham Hotspur remain contenders for the Premier League title, despite slipping further behind Chelsea at the weekend.

Hull City defender Curtis Davies has said that he and his teammates must "stand up and be counted" when they take on Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

Spurs have won just two of their last eight fixtures in the Premier League, but Davies insists that the North London outfit remain one of the top teams in the division who can still challenge for the league title.

The 31-year-old told reporters: "You can analyse Spurs all day if you want, but they're a very good side and we just have to stand up and be counted on the night.

"They're definite title candidates this year I think. They'll no doubt be kicking themselves after missing out last year."

Hull make the trip to White Hart Lane in 19th place in the standings.
