How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against PSV Eindhoven

Ahead of the Champions League clash between PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham Hotspur, Sports Mole looks at how Maurico Pochettino's side could line up at the Philips Stadion.

Tottenham Hotspur head into their Champions League encounter with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night eager to get maximum points on the board after two successive defeats.

Mauricio Pochettino's side let slip a one-goal advantage to lose at Inter Milan at the start of the group stages, while Barcelona impressed in a 4-2 victory at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.

However, Spurs have registered four wins in a row in the Premier League and will be confident of continuing that form at the Philips Stadion.

Pochettino has been contending with a number of injury issues in recent weeks, and here Sports Mole looks at how his side could line up against the Eredivisie outfit.

Out: Jan Vertonghen (thigh), Vincent Janssen (foot)
Doubtful: Dele Alli (thigh), Victor Wanyama (thigh), Danny Rose (groin)

Spurs have revealed that Dele Alli will take part in training this week, but Wednesday's match could come too soon for the England international as he recovers from a thigh injury.

The same could apply to both Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama, who are not too far away from returning from groin and thigh problems respectively.

Christian Eriksen is likely to start for the North London side having made an appearance from the bench against West Ham United, while Mousa Dembele could potentially come in for Harry Winks who has twice played 90 minutes over the last week with club and country.

The absence of Jan Vertonghen is unlikely to lead to any changes in the centre of defence, but Pochettino will be looking for the right time to reintroduce Serge Aurier back into the starting lineup at right-back.

That could lead to Kieran Trippier being handed a rest for this game, but Harry Kane is expected to start his 15th match for Spurs and England this season.

Son Heung-min should come back into the team having remained as an unused substitute at the weekend, and that could lead to Lucas Moura being handed a rest after starting 10 of the club's 11 matches in the Premier League and the Champions League.
