Vicente del Bosque: 'Jesus Navas unlikely to make Spain World Cup squad'

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque says that Jesus Navas is unlikely to play at the World Cup.

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has said that Jesus Navas is unlikely to play at the World Cup.

The 28-year-old has been out injured with an ankle injury and played no part in his country's 2-0 win over Bolivia on Friday evening.

"Jesus Navas has been recovering well these past few days but the reality is he has not played for two months and we prefer to have someone in good shape," Del Bosque told reporters.

"He is not ruled out completely but it will be hard for him to make it."

Navas was part of the Spain squad that won the World Cup in 2010.
