Portugal have decided to rest Cristiano Ronaldo for the Euro 2016 qualifier with Serbia in Belgrade, having already secured a place at next year's finals.

The Real Madrid star was released from the Seleccao squad ahead of the game in Belgrade and Fernando Santos will be relying on the likes of Nani and Ricardo Quaresma to lead the attack.

Santos has also left Monaco duo Bernardo Silva and Joao Moutinho on the bench, while midfielder Tiago has been omitted from the matchday squad.

Meanwhile, Serbia have opted for a strong starting lineup with Nemanja Matic, Dusan Tadic and Adem Ljajic all featuring.

Manchester City left-back Aleksandar Kolarov will captain the side in the absence of Branislav Ivanovic.
