A report claims that Cristiano Ronaldo has no intention of signing another new contract at Real Madrid unless his £365,000-a-week wages are increased.

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has instructed the club to increase his wages or else he will renege on signing a new contract, according to a report.

The 32-year-old, voted the best player in the world by his peers earlier this week, is said to be unhappy that he is being paid less than arch-rival Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

Ronaldo's future appeared to be uncertain during the summer transfer window due to off-field matters centring around unpaid taxes, but he remained in place at the Bernabeu and is under contract until 2021.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol suggests that the Portugal international will not extend his current terms any further unless his £365,000-a-week wages are increased, however, as he instead wants closer to the £500,000 mark.

Ronaldo has scored 44 goals for club and country in 2017, most recently finding the net in the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid last week.
