Paris Saint-Germain took on AS Monaco in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes looking for three home points in order to claim their seventh league title.

Unai Emery's men raced out of the traps and found themselves 4-1 up at half time, following first-half goals from Edinson Cavani, Giovani Lo Celso and Angel Di Maria.

The home side continued to push home their dominance in the second period as Di Maria, Julian Draxler and an own goal from Radamel Falcao all contributed to a 7-1 hammering to hand PSG the league title.

7.30pmGood evening everyone and thanks for joining us as we bring you live coverage as Paris Saint-Germain take on Monaco in Ligue 1. Unai Emery's men require three points on home soil in order to reclaim the title back off Monaco. As for the visitors, Leonardo Jardim's men will be hoping to delay Parisian celebrations for a little longer...

7.32pmPARIS SAINT-GERMAIN STARTING XI: Areola; Alves, Marquinhos, Silva, Berchiche; Lo Celso, Rabiot, Draxler; Pastore, Cavani, Di Maria

7.32pmPARIS SAINT-GERMAIN SUBSTITUTES: Trapp, Kurzawa, Meunier, Lass, Nkunku, Motta, Mbappe

7.33pmAS MONACO STARTING XI: Subasic; Jemerson, Raggi, Jorge, Toure; Sidibe, Fabinho, Moutinho, Lemar, Lopes; Falcao

7.33pmAS MONACO SUBSTITUTES: Sy, Ghezzal, Tielemans, Boschilia, N'Doram, Diakhaby, Sylla

7.35pmParis Saint-Germain have decided to go with a front three that includes Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore, leaving Kylian Mbappe on the bench tonight.

7.37pmIn midfield, Emery has also started youngster Giovani Lo Celso who starts alongside Adrian Rabiot and Julian Draxler. At the back, Marquinhos pairs up with Thiago Silva in the centre of defence.

7.39pmFor the visitors, Radamel Falcao leads the line up top for Monaco, who will also feature a five-man midfield consisting of Rony Lopes, Fabinho, Joao Moutinho, Thomas Lamar and Djibril Sidibe.

7.41pmParis come into the game with a 14-point lead over Monaco, giving PSG the chance to claim the title on home soil by beating AS here this evening.

7.43pmThere are six games remaining in Ligue 1 this season, including this one, providing PSG with the opportunity to exact revenge with plenty of games to spare after being dethroned by Les Monegasques last term.

7.45pmThat shock Monaco title win last season saw PSG having to give up hold on a reign at the top that had lasted for four seasons straight. Emery has handed out some crucial chances tonight, especially for Lo Celso in the middle of the park.

7.47pmPSG have already beaten Monaco three times this campaign. Paris won in the Trophee des Champions in Tangier, in Ligue 1 at the Stade Louis II and then in the Coupe de la Ligue final at Matmut Atlantique not too long ago.

7.48pmParis perhaps showed some slight signs of complacency when facing Saint-Etienne last weekend, but the measure of their dominance this term is demonstrated by the implications of a win here tonight. Victory and the Ligue 1 title is back in the French capital with five games remaining.

7.49pmMonaco have lost a number of key players through transfers and have arguably failed to mount much of a serious challenge in Ligue 1 this term. Having said that, going 17 league games unbeaten at the moment has still not been enough for AS to put any troubling pressure on PSG.

7.51pmRony Lopes has perhaps been the saving grace this term for Monaco. The winger has seemingly stepped out of the shadow of Lemar, who has struggled for form of late.

7.53pmPSG have dominated the exchanges between these sides of late. Winning three already this term has seen PSG on a five-game unbeaten run against AS. Paris have actually won five straight against Jardim's men.

7.55pmA draw here would mean Monaco can only finish level on points with PSG and that is only if the Parisians go on a run of unthinkably disastrous form in the final few games of the campaign.

7.57pmThe teams last met when PSG ran out 3-0 victors in the Coupe de la Ligue final, the highlights of which are below:

7.59pmThe players are now emerging from the tunnel in the French capital. Can PSG reclaim the title here tonight? It would be a perfect way to do things in front of their home supporters against the club's closest rivals in the league.

8.00pmHere we go then, some quick handshakes and we'll be off. The Parc des Princes is a full house tonight, with jubilant Parisians expecting some celebrations long into the night.

1 minKICKOFF! Monaco get the game underway, kicking from left to right in red and white. PSG are in their regular home blue strip. Can they become Ligue 1 champions again this evening?

3 minMonaco have started brightly and they make good progress down the left channel through Jorge, but Marquinhos is quick across on the cover and blocks the incoming cross.

5 minAS put more pressure on the hosts when Lemar scampers down the right before working the ball across the field. A cross is whipped towards the back post for Falcao and Lemar to challenge, but Le Celso does well to head away the danger.

7 minMonaco get the chance to deliver a set piece from deep and the ball drops kindly to the feet of Toure, but he swings at thin air and PSG are again able to clear their lines. The visitors have enjoyed a promising start here.

9 minMISS! PSG respond by gaining their first spell of possession and they work the ball calmly inside their own half. The ball is then lifted forward over to the right and the cross into the middle takes a kind head and falls into the path of Cavani at the back post. The striker should bury the shot but somehow drags his first-time effort across goal and wide.

11 minDi Maria tries to use his pace by driving down the right channel, but Toure defends well and keeps apace with the winger before making a strong challenge.

13 minPSG load the box and the ball just doesn't quite fall well enough for Pastore, who shows quick feet but ultimately cannot get his shot away from the right side of the box.

15 minGOAL! PSG 1-0 MONACO (GIOVANI LO CELSO)

15 minPSG were just starting to show glimmers of quality and now the full bag is delivered. Cavani drops short and is able to spin the ball behind a defender to find the run of Alves. The right-back gets his head up to cut the ball back perfectly across goal, where Lo Celso is waiting to tap home.

16 minGOAL! PSG 2-0 MONACO (EDINSON CAVANI)

16 minMy word, two goals in as many minutes. Draxler picks up the ball in the middle and manages to slot a wonderful ball down the left channel for Berchiche to break onto. The winger swings a perfectly-timed cross into the middle, where Cavani hangs for what seems like an age before thumping a header beyond a helpless Subasic. Champions?

18 minWhat can Monaco do to respond here? They started the game so brightly but they now find themselves two goals behind after just over 15 minutes at the Parc des Princes.

20 minGOAL! PSG 3-0 MONACO (ANGEL DI MARIA)

20 minWhat on earth are we witnessing here? This goal is of the highest quality. The ball is played into Cavani on the halfway line and he is able to turn and scoop the ball in one motion behind the Monaco defence. Di Maria is there to break off the last man and he moves through one-on-one with Subasic. The Argentine makes no mistake with his finish, producing the deftest of lobs to embarrass the onrushing keeper.

22 minPSG are in total control of the title at the moment and for Monaco this could become an exercise in pure damage limitation. The Parisians look rampant after an initially tepid start from Emery's men.

24 minFabinho is able to win a corner after pressure from Silva inside the box. The delivery is whipped into a dangerous area although Areola does well to come off his line and punch clear through the bodies.

26 minSHOT! Falcao hasn't given up just yet as he rolls Silva with a sublime turn on the edge of the box. Luckily for PSG, Marquinhos is there to make an excellent block before the striker's shot can test Areola.

27 minGOAL! PSG 4-0 MONACO (GIOVANI LO CELSO)

28 minThis could be a memorable night for the home side. Draxler is at the base of this move as he shows a one-two with Pastore, allowing the latter to move into space down the left wing. He gets his head up and prods the ball into the middle with the outside of his right boot, allowing Lo Celso to rise highest and thump a header past Subasic.

30 minMonaco come forward straight from kickoff and the ball is squared back into the danger zone, allowing Moutinho to wide up from outside of the area with a shot that goes flying wide of the PSG goal.

32 minSidibe could be in a slight spot of bother for Monaco and it looks like he might need the stretcher as he is taken off. The knock locked fairly innocuous as he went to challenge for the ball too.

34 minThe home side continue to spray the ball about with real authority inside the Monaco half and you wouldn't bet against this becoming more of a drubbing as the game goes forward.

34 minSUBSTITUTION: With Sidibe forced off moments ago through injury, Monaco bring on Rachid Ghezzal in his place.

35 minPSG lead a smart counter down the left this time through Rabiot, who has Cavani screaming for a cross into the box. The youngster opens up to deliver but slips at the vital moment, spooning the pass out for a goal kick.

37 minGOAL! PSG 4-1 MONACO (RONY LOPES)

37 minFive first-half goals, who would have thought it? It's woeful defending from Berchiche who is robbed close to goal by Toure. The full-back moves into the box before lashing across the face of goal, where Rony Lopes is free at the back post to blast home. That's his 11th goal this term...

39 minYELLOW CARD! Pastore is very late on Ghezzal right on the edge of the PSG box, sending the playmaker into the referee's book.

41 minLemar stands over the set piece and aims to whip the ball with pace down towards Areola's near post, but the effort cannons into Ghezzal and out for a goal kick before it can even test the PSG keeper.

42 minPSG counter straight down at the other end and Alves is able to chip a speculative cross into the middle, leaving Draxler to try an immense bicycle kick that he completely misses. A great effort, regardless.

44 minCHANCE! Monaco should have a lifeline now as Toure comes down the right and turns a perfect ball to the back post, but Lopes can only rise to head high and wide of the target.

45 minWe are going to have two minutes of additional time in the first half...

45+2 minHALF TIME: PSG 4-1 MONACO

8.51pmWhat more could you want from a potentially title-clinching contest? PSG were simply brilliant for a period of 20 minutes or so, arguably blowing Monaco out of the water in this fascinating first half.

8.52pmMonaco actually started the game with plenty of positive intent and caused some early issues. PSG responded with some clinical passing and finishing, however, putting them firmly in control of taking the title tonight. The highlights reel from this game will be something special come the end of this evening, especially when looking at the Di Maria goal.

9.02pmEmery will be delighted with that first-half showing, but he will likely be warning his charges of complacency. Another Monaco goal and the nerves might just start to set in for the Parisians.

9.07pmThe players are now making their way back out onto the pitch, we will be back underway very shortly at the Parc des Princes.

46 minSECOND HALF! PSG get us going again here in the French capital. They are so close to claiming the title now...

47 minLo Celso comes charging down the right flank and looks to get a cross into the middle, but he scuffs his effort straight out for a goal kick. The youngster has been a standout performer in this game.

48 minRabiot has been slightly wayward in his passing this evening and this time he shanks an easy ball straight out for a throw under very little pressure in the middle of the pitch.

50 minSAVE! Monaco should have a second. Pastore plays an absolute horror pass back across his own box, where Lopes pounces to bring the ball under control. The winger drives at goal, only to be denied by a strong save from Areola.

52 minThis is what Emery will not want, as PSG start to overplay things in their own half. The hosts are likely better off forcing the issue going forward like they did in the first period.

54 minFabinho shows great feet and strength to bustle towards the PSG box, before winning a free kick right on the edge of the area under pressure from Pastore and Rabiot.

56 minFalcao is over the set piece but he can only fire an effort straight into the wall without testing the PSG stopper.

58 minGOAL! PSG 5-1 MONACO (ANGEL DI MARIA)

58 minWhat a counter! Alves moves the ball out from the back with a curling effort to find the run of Pastore. The playmaker brings the ball down wonderfully with a delicate first touch, before moving another pass beyond the last man to find Di Maria. Again the Argentina international is clinical, rifling low down under Subasic.

60 minThe change of pace in this PSG side is terrifying. Again a counter comes down the left, where Di Maria guides the ball towards goal with a cute flick, leaving Subasic to save down at his near post.

61 minYELLOW CARDS! Pure frustration now as Fabinho clatters into Cavani. He goes into the book, alongside Raggi who tries to talk his teammate out of trouble.

63 minA quick camera glance into the stands sees Marco Verratti dressed up rather dapper. Party time tonight, maybe?

65 minSUBSTITUTION: PSG make their first change of the night as Rabiot is replaced by veteran ball-winner Lassana Diarra.

67 minPastore is able to drift free of his marker on the left side of the box to receive the ball from Lo Celso, although his final cross into the mixer is picked out by Subasic.

69 minThere is a slight fear that this game could become processional if Monaco do not start to offer a little more energy. PSG are gearing up for another change on the sidelines.

71 minSome neat combination work on the right channel almost finds Toure nudging beyond his marker, but Silva is quickly across to make the challenge. PSG have been dominant in all areas here.

73 minExhibition time, then... Di Maria stands a ball up to the back post where Alves is free, but his overhead kick flies straight into the grasp of Subasic who barely has to move.

74 minSAVE! Lo Celso should strike for his own hat-trick, but he squares to Di Maria who sees his driven effort saved by Subasic, who blocks away with two hands at his near post.

75 minSUBSTITUTIONs: Another PSG change as Di Maria is replaced by Thomas Meunier. For Monaco, Lopes comes off for Adama Diakhaby.

76 minGOAL! PSG 6-1 MONACO (RADAMEL FALCAO OWN GOAL)

76 minThis night goes from worse to worse for the visitors. From the resulting corner, Falcao tries to track back but can only divert the ball beyond his own keeper at the near post under pressure from PSG centre-back Silva.

79 minSUBSTITUTION: A final change for PSG now as Lo Celso goes off for Christopher Nkunku. Youngster Lo Celso has been nothing short of brilliant in midfield tonight.

81 minSUBSTITUTE: Monaco make their own change now as Falcao comes off in place of young midfielder Youri Tielemans.

83 minPSG are simply moving the ball about with beauty at the moment, Monaco are nowhere near them in these closing moments.

87 minGOAL! PSG 7-1 MONACO (JULIAN DRAXLER)

87 minAnd another, this is beyond embarrassing now. The ball is turned into the middle from the right by Alves, leaving any number of bodies to take a touch in the box. Instead, the ball runs through to Draxler who arrives late at the back post and smashes home a seventh for the home side.

89 minThe home fans are just starting to burst out into song now, we are edging closer...

90+1 minFULL TIME: PSG 7-1 MONACO

9.54pmPARIS SAINT-GERMAIN CLAIM THE LIGUE 1 TITLE WITH FIVE GAMES STILL TO PLAY

10.00pmThere will be some monumental celebrations in Paris tonight as the capital club confirm Ligue 1 glory with this memorable win, which will surely live long in the history of this young club. It's slightly maddening to think that Monaco are in second too. PSG simply blew them away this evening. Congratulation to Emery and his men. PSG are Ligue 1 champions for the seventh time! That's going to be all from me, thanks for joining us...
