Report: Ex-Manchester United player Alan Smith in talks with Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth Argyle are reportedly in discussions to sign Notts County's veteran midfielder Alan Smith.

Ex-Manchester United and Leeds United midfielder Alan Smith has reportedly travelled to Plymouth Argyle for transfer talks with manager Derek Adams.

The 35-year-old has featured on a regular basis for current club Notts County this season.

However, his contract at Meadow Lane is due to expire at the end of the season and with that in mind, County are prepared to let him switch to the League Two leaders, according to The Mirror.

Former England international Smith has also played for Newcastle United and MK Dons.
