Shola Ameobi: 'Nigeria ready to mix it up with Argentina'

Shola Ameobi claims that he and his Nigeria teammates are ready to "mix it" with Argentina in their vital World Cup clash on Wednesday.

Nigeria striker Shola Ameobi has revealed that he and his teammates are ready to "mix it" with Argentina in their vital World Cup clash tonight.

The Super Eagles need a point against the Argentines if they want to progress, but a defeat would leave the door open to Iran to claim second place in Group F.

While their place in the last 16 is not yet secured, Ameobi insists that Nigeria will be doing all they can to go through.

"[Fans] should expect a Nigerian side ready to fight for every ball and who want to remain in this World Cup, ready to mix it one of the best teams in the world and show that we also are a powerful football nation," he told Supersport.com.

Ameobi has scored two goals in eight appearances for Nigeria.
