Newcastle United reportedly agree a £12m deal with Norwich City for the transfer of England Under-21s international Jacob Murphy.

Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a £12m deal with Norwich City for the transfer of Jacob Murphy.

It is understood that the Magpies failed in an initial £8.5m move for the England Under-21s international, but according to Sky Sports News, a figure of £12m has now been agreed between the two clubs.

The report claims that Murphy will fly to Dublin on Monday night to seal a move to Newcastle, who are currently on a week-long training camp in Ireland.

Murphy, 22, has been with Norwich since 2006, and scored nine times in 40 appearances for the Canaries during the 2016-17 campaign.

The versatile attacker also impressed for England Under-21s in the Under-21 European Championships earlier this summer, playing a key role in the Three Lions reaching the semi-finals of the competition.

Murphy will become Newcastle's third summer signing following the arrivals of Christian Atsu and Florian Lejeune from Chelsea and Eibar respectively.
