Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow is reportedly willing to sign a contract extension at the club, despite the recent signing of Martin Dubravka.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow is reportedly willing to fight for a starting spot under Rafael Benitez, despite the recent signing of Martin Dubravka from Sparta Prague.

Dubravka is expected to start as the first-choice goalkeeper at St James' Park next season following a successful loan spell at the club.

However, Chronicle Live reports that Darlow is still eyeing up a contract extension at the Premier League side as the Welshman looks to impress his international boss Ryan Giggs.

The report adds that Darlow is confident in his ability to perform at Newcastle and is happy at the Tyne and Wear club.

The Magpies also have Republic of Ireland international Rob Elliot as an alternative keeper for the upcoming season.
