Sports Mole looks at how Netherlands could line up in Tuesday's World Cup 2022 qualifier against Turkey.

Netherlands are expected to welcome Virgil van Dijk back into their starting XI for Tuesday's key World Cup 2022 qualification clash against Group G leaders Turkey.

Van Dijk was an unused substitute against Montenegro on Saturday, with head coach Louis van Gaal taking the opportunity to rest the centre-back, who dislocated his finger against Norway on Wednesday.

The Liverpool defender could replace Matthijs de Ligt, but it might otherwise be the same XI that took to the field for the first whistle against Montenegro.

Memphis Depay scored twice in the 4-0 win at the weekend, and the Barcelona attacker should again operate in the middle of a front three, with Cody Gakpo and Steven Berghuis playing in the wide areas.

Van Gaal is unlikely to alter his midfield three, meaning that Davy Klaassen should again get the nod alongside Frenkie de Jong and Georginio Wijnaldum in the middle of the park.

Denzel Dumfries was preferred to Jurrien Timber at right-back against Montenegro and that is again expected to be the case in this match, while Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow should earn just his third cap.

There could also be just a second cap for Tyrell Malacia at left-back if Daley Blind is not deemed ready to feature from the start.

Netherlands possible starting lineup: Bijlow; Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Malacia; Wijnaldum, F de Jong, Klaassen; Berghuis, Memphis, Gakpo
